20 | Meet Henry’s Second Oldest Son, Samuel
Samuel was born in 1821 in Washington County, Maryland, near Clear Spring. He married Christena Foust, sister of his brother John’s first wife, in January, 1844 in Pickaway County, Ohio. He married Lydia Ann Hurdle in April, 1847, in Pickaway County, Ohio. Not long after that, they moved to Indiana, near Kewanna, where Samuel died in February, 1886. Samuel started what I call The Indiana Branch of the Odaffer family. As a result of this website, I was fortunate to become acquainted with Al Field, who is a descendant of Samuel O’Daffer, is shown in the chart below, and who provided extensive, well documented, information about this branch. An abbreviated chart of Samuel’s descendants is shown below.
For more detailed information on Samuel’s descendants see Descendant Chart 6.
Meet Henry’s third oldest son, Henry
Henry married Martha E. in 1840 and had a son, William, and two daughters, Mabel and Lydia. They lived in Pickaway Co., Salt Creek Twp in Ohio, and had real estate worth $500 according to the 1850 census. We found Henry and Martha’s grave in the Tarleton Cemetary in Tarleton, Ohio, in 1983.
Henry’s descendants make up the branch of Odaffers that I have called The Ohio Branch, whose abbreviated chart is shown below. For more information on Henry’s descendants, see Descendant Chart 7.
